Executive Biographies Allen B. Davis Allen B. Davis is a seasoned veteran with over 20 years in the computer industry. Allen founded Mission Software in 1993. In 1998 he purchased Knowledge Systems Corporation and has organized the two companies to bring together education, product development and consulting services to meet enterprise computing needs. Allen has been involved with numerous large projects using object technology including his position as Chief Architect for the 1996 Olympic Kiosk system. His positions have included design, architecture and project management responsibilities. Currently Allen is Chief Executive Officer for Knowledge Systems Corporation. Allen began his career at IBM Corporation where he spent 14 years in a range of projects, including Chief Design Consultant and Technical Lead for several successful Object Technology and Internet based projects. He participated in several major corporate initiatives including design and development of systems and products to support Corporate Software Reuse. Underpinning Allen’s experience is a sincere belief and focus on Object Technology, particularly on the value of Smalltalk.
Karen A. Bernard Karen Bernard brings over 17 years of technology industry experience to her position as Chief Operating Officer at Knowledge Systems Corporation. Prior to joining the Knowledge Systems Corporation, Bernard consulted with several companies and organizations to improve their information technology systems and processes, including MCI Worldcom and Duke University. Bernard began her career at IBM, holding a range of positions during her 18-year-long stint with the Company. Her positions included Program Manager IBM Global Services, Corporate Systems Management Architecture Development lead, Corporate User Interface Architecture Development Manager and Software Development Manager and Programmer. In addition to her extensive knowledge of software development, Bernard received her Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina ’s Kenan-Flagler business school. Well-versed about all stages of the software development lifecycle, Bernard fully understands the historical and current competitive landscape Knowledge Systems Corporation functions within. Additionally, her strong leadership and project management experience enables her to accommodate and maintain the rapid pace at which Knowledge Systems Corporation is growing.
Jean Emerson Jean Emerson applies her 30 years of technology marketing experience everyday in her position as the Director of Sales for Knowledge Systems Corporation. Prior to joining Knowledge Systems Corporation, Emerson worked for IBM Corp in a range of marketing positions for 25 years. During that time, she was an Advisory Marketing Representative and a Marketing Manager, responsible for extensive sales territory as well as sales representatives and customers in all industry segments. Additionally, Emerson acted as a primary spokesperson to IBM user groups and played a lead role in developing and communicating key messages to the IBM sales teams worldwide for many major initiatives. Emerson also provided IBM sponsored training services to customers in the US and South Africa as part of a program called “Business Value of Systems Management: Process and Programs.” As the Director of Sales for Knowledge Corporation Systems, Emerson manages all customer relations and sales training. Her extensive sales and marketing experience combined with her solid knowledge of the computer industry are key attributes she brings to her position, to her customers and to Knowledge Systems Corporation.
Steven C. Geringer Steve Geringer joined Knowledge Systems Corporation as the Company’s Director of Planning and Strategy after working for them as a Senior Consultant for 3 years. He brings approximately 20 years of experience in software development with a strong expertise in technology, product and business planning. Prior to joining Knowledge Systems, Geringer consulted on numerous software projects in a variety of roles for companies such as IBM, MCI, Carolina Power and Light. Throughout his extensive consulting career in the software development arena, Geringer has tackled many technical and management issues for his clients. In the process, he has gathered a wide array of skills and experiences with a particular emphasis in leading and mentoring teams in the transition to Object Technology. Geringer launched his software career as a programmer with IBM. During his 12-year tenure at IBM, he worked in many diverse roles including designer, developer, tester, team lead, architecture, product planning, business planning, and competitive market analysis. His breadth of technical and business skills combined with his firsthand knowledge of the consulting world enable him to play a key role in setting strategic goals and establishing new initiatives to lead Knowledge Systems through the Company’s next period of growth.
